1,137 AFP personnel apektado ng COVID-19

LUNGSOD NG QUEZON — Nagtala ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) ng kabuuang 1,137 empleyadong apektado ng  COVID-19 kung saan 10 na ang namatay samantalang 473 ang active cases, 138 ang recoveries, at 516 ang cleared hanggang Agosto 8.

Sinabi ni AFP Spokesperson MGen Edgard Arevalo na may utos na sa lahat ng unit commanders at chiefs na bantayang maigi ang mga kaso upang hindi makaapekto sa operasyon ng militar.

“We cannot, in this difficult time, fail the people and various government agencies that rely heavily on the AFP to maintain peace and security as well as assist in the responses for the health and well-being of our countrymen,” pahayag ni MGen Arevalo.

Nilinaw rin ng tagapagsalita ng AFP na hinihintay pa nila ang official medical report kung dulot ba ng COVID-19 ang pagpanaw ng isa sa mga senior officers nito noong Agosto 6 sa V. Luna Medical Center Hospital, bagama’t nagpakita ito ng sintomas ng sakit.
