Tigok ang dalawang hinihinalang miyembro ng isang organized crime group sa Metro Manila at Rizal ngayong araw, Disyembre 17, bandang 5:40 a.m. sa Marcos Highway Sitio Painuman Brgy. Inarawan, Antipolo City matapos makipagbarilan sa police checkpoint.
Ayon sa ulat ng Philippine National Police (PNP), sakay diumano sina alyas “Kelly” at “Roy” ng motorsiklong walang plaka nang dumaan sa checkpoint at nagpaputok gamit ang machine pistol at handgun na nagresulta sa isang shootout sa mga operatiba ng PNP Anti-Kidnapping Group (AKG).
“These criminals would not surrender and would even challenge the lawmen to a shootout. Our team responded well in such a risk-taking confrontation with these hardcore armed criminals,” pahayag ni PNP Chief Police General Debold M. Sinas.
Isa sa mga pangunahing target ang Mokong Group ng AKG na ang lider na si Ryan Bonn Dela Cruz ay may warrants of arrest dahil sa gunrunning, robbery, kidnap-for-ransom, at illegal drugs.
