Pinakabago ang 22 Mangyan tribesmen sa serye ng mga pagsuko ng mga CPP-NPA hardcore red fighters at underground militants sa PNP nito lamang Pebrero 15 sa PNP Regional Headquarters sa Camp Navarro, Calapan City.

“Their surrender is a huge setback to the mainstream CTG as they took important role in sustaining their existence by providing vital information, foods, medicines and other combat materials,” pahayag ni PNP Chief Police General Debold M. Sinas.

Napag-alamang ang mga nagsipagsukong Mangyan tribesmen ay mga regular na miyembro ng Ganap na Kasapi (GK) ng Lucio De Guzman Command Southern Tagalog Regional Party Committee. Kasama diumano ang mga ito sa Barangay Revolutionary Committee (BRC) na organisado ng isang Mean Santillan a.k.a. “Kalda”, Secretary ng KLG ICM upang magsagawa ng propaganda at mangalap ng food supply, medical support, at firearms sa Brgy. Lisap Bongabong, Oriental Mindoro.

Sa seremonya ng oath of allegiance, isinuko rin ng mga CPP-NPA defectors ang isang Intratec 9mm submachine gun at dalawang automatic pistols.

Siniguro ni MIMAROPA Regional Director Police Brigadier General Pascual G Muñoz, Jr. ang tulong ng pamahalaan sa mga surrenderees sa ilalim ng  Enhanced Comprehensive Local Integration Program (E-CLIP).
