LUNGSOD NG QUEZON–Dalawampu’t dalawang suspek ang huli sa akto ng paglalaro ng ilegal na sabong o “tupada” sa magkakahiwalay na operasyon ng Quezon City Police District (QCPD) alinsunod na rin sa pinatinding kampanya kontra illegal gambling ng bagong Philippine National Police Chief PGEN Debold M. Sinas.

Labindalawa sa mga suspek na naaresto ng Holy Spirit Police Station (PS 14) noong Nobyembre 16 bandang 9:40 a.m. sa Brgy. Holy Spirit ay kinilalang sina: Vitaliano Retorado, 54; Mateo Palad, 45; Nestor Cleofe, 42; Angelito Mendiola, 35; Alex Dedel, 49; at Francisco Vidas, 43, lahat mula Brgy. Holy Spirit; Judy Adora, 39; Federico Ebora, 56; Danilo Romero, 46; Mark Jason Tagud, 33; Cenderilo Orquita Mullot, Jr., 38, lahat mula naman Brgy. Old Balara; at Nestor Bangcayan, 58, ng Samonte Ext. Diliman. Nakumpiska sa kanila ang dalawang panabong at panugal na PhP900.

Nahuli naman ng Fairview Police Station (PS 5) bandang 10:30 a.m. nitong Nobyembre 15 sa Yuan St., Brgy. North Fairview dahil sa isang tip sina: Ronald Jusayan, 45; at Roberto Tumagara, 47, ng parehong Brgy. North Fairview. Nakumpiska naman sa kanila ang dalawang panabong at PhP940 perang panugal.

Timbog ang suspek na si Clarence Baronia, 19, ng Brgy. Loyola Heights bandang 9:30 a.m. noong November 15 sa Tubo, Brgy. UP Campus ng mga patrolling officer ng Anonas Police Station (PS 9). Nakatakas ang mga kasama ni Baronia ngunit nakumpiska ang isang patay na panabong at PhP200 na pansugal.

Sa kaparehong petsa at dahil sa tip ng isang concerned citizen, nahuli rin bandang 4:30 p.m. sa Rd. 1, Brgy. Bagong Silangan ng Payatas Bagong Silangan Police Station (PS 13) ang mga suspek na sina: Jose Caranguian, 55; at Rommel Jimenez, 34, parehong nakatira sa nasabing barangay. Nasabat ang dalawang manok na panabong at PhP700 na panugal.

Huli naman ng Quezon City District Field Unit noong Nobyembre 15 bandang 10:30 a.m. sa B14 Gravelpit, Payatas ang mga tupador suspek na sina: Joseph Ponilas, 51; at Bryan Arguellas, 37, parehong Brgy. Payatas A; Alberto Margaha, 41; Shiote Sumido, 31; at Segundo Almoros, 46, lahat mula Brgy. Commonwealth. Nakuha sa mga suspek ang isang panabong at panugal na nagkakahalagang PhP3,290.

Kasong paglabag sa PD 1602 o Illegal Gambling ang isasampa sa mga nasabing suspek sa QC Prosecutor’s Office.

Nanawagan si QCPD Director PBGEN Ronnie S. Montejo sa publiko na patuloy na iulat ang anumang ilegal na aktibidad sa mga awtoridad.
