Napaulat na naunang nagpaputok ang mga suspek sa tropa ng Regional Intelligence Unit-9 ng Philippine National Police (PNP) Intelligence Group, kasama ang 5th Special Action Battalion and Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit ng PNP-Special Action Force, Regional Maritime Unit-9, Regional Intelligence Division ng Criminal Investigation and Detection Group-9, at Zamboanga City Police Office.
Naisugod pa ang dalawang sugatang suspek sa ospital ngunit idineklarang dead on arrival, samantalang nahulog naman ang katawan ng isa na hanggang ngayon ay pinaghahanap.
Nakuha ang dalawang caliber .45 pistols at mga pampasabog sa pumpboat ng mga suspek.
