5 bayan sa Bontoc, isinailalim sa ECQ

Isasailalim sa Enhanced Community Quarantine (ECQ) ang limang bayan sa Bontoc, Mountain Province hanggang sa katapusan ng Enero matapos ang biglaang pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa lugar at maaari pa umano itong tumagal kung mabibigo ang lokal na pamahalaan sa gagawing contact tracing sa UK variant ng COVID-19.

Ayon kay Mayor Franklin Odsey, nakadepende umano ang desisyon sa pagpapalawig ng ECQ sa paghahanap ng mga posibleng carriers ng bagong COVID-19 variant.

“If our contact tracers will not finish their contact tracing, then we will extend the lockdown,” pahayag ni Mayor Odsey.

Inamin naman ng alkalde na hirap sila na maisagawa ng contact tracing dahil kulang umano ang contact tracers sa lugar at umaasa lamang sila sa additional staff mula sa ibang rehiyon.

“I’m so happy na ngayong araw, nandito na ang contact tracers from CAR, Regions 1 and 2 na naga-assist sa amin to trace second, third generations,” ani Mayor Odsey.

Ang mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng ECQ ay ang Bontoc Illi, Caluttit, Poblacion, Samoki, at Tocucan.

Magiging epektibo ang ECQ sa Bontoc Illi, Caluttit, at Poblacion simula Enero 31 sa bisa ng Executive Order No. 08 series of 2021. Nitong Linggo, naglabas na rin ng isa pang EO para sa extended lockdown sa Tocucan.

Samantala, inihayag ni Mayor Odsey sa kanyang opisyal na Facebook account na isasailalim din ang bayan ng Samoki sa ECQ.

Iniulat kamakailan ni Mayor Odsey na mayroong 12 kumpirmadong kaso ng B.1.1.7 COVID-19 variant sa Bontoc. Dalawa umano sa mga ito ang nanatili sa ospital, isa ang nakalabas na sa ospital, at nasa home quarantine ang siyam pang pasyente.

Nangako naman si Mayor Odsey na mahigpit ang ginagawang pagbabantay ng lokal na pamahalaan sa mga pasyenteng nasa home quarantine.
