5K FINANCIAL ASSISTANCE, HANDOG NG DOT, DOLE PARA SA DISPLACED TOURISM WORKERS SA NCR PLUS

Bilang tulong sa mahigit 67,000 displaced tourism workers sa NCR Plus, inihayag ng Department of Tourism at Department of Labor and Employment na mabibigyan ng one-time P5,000 financial assistance ang mga ito sa ilalim ng DOT-DOLE Cash-For-Work Program ng Bayanihan 2.

Mula sa 67, 347 benepisyaryo, 6,817 ang mula sa Bulacan; 8,422 naman sa Cavite; 14,161 ang sa Laguna; 10,582 sa Rizal; at 27,365 ang mula sa National Capital Region.

Ayon kay Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, umabot na sa 336.7 milyong piso ang nailabas na pondo  para sa tulong pinansyal na ito.

Kaugnay nito, nilinaw din ni Labor Assistant Secretary Dominique Tutay na maaari ring  makipag-ugnayan sa DOLE ang mga tourism beat media workers na qualified para makakuha ng financial aid.

Kabilang umano sa mga qualified media workers ang mga freelancers gayundin ang mga publication o radio companies na nagsara bunsod ng pandemya.

Kinakailangan lamang umano magsumite ng valid ID, proof of output na sa tourism beat ang kanyang trabaho, at dahilan kung paano naapektuhan ng pandemya ang kanilang kabuhayan.

Umaasa naman si Sec. Puyat na makatutulong ang financial aid na ito lalo na sa tourism workers at stakeholders na higit na naapektuhan dahil sa COVID-19.

“While it may help in the short term, we believe that the best way to help stakeholders in the long run is to develop a tourism industry that is stronger, more resilient, and more adaptable to change,” ani Sec. Puyat.
