AFP NAGBABALA SA RECRUITMENT MODUS NG CPP-NPA SA MGA ESTUDYANTE AT CELEBRITY

Nagbabala sa ginanap na public hearing noong Miyerkules ng Senate Committee on National Defense and Security, Peace, Unification and Reconciliation ang Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) sa pangunguna ni Chief of Staff General Gilbert Gapay ukol sa recruitment modus ng Communist Party of the Philippines-New People’s Army (CPP-NPA) na ang target ay mga kabataan at celebrity.

Ito’y matapos ipatawag ng naturang komite ng Senado ang defense sector ng gobyerno dahil sa isyu ng red tagging o baiting diumano sa ilang personalidad at organisasyon.

Dumalo rin sina Department of Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana, Department of the Interior and Local Government Secretary Eduardo Año, National Security Adviser Hermogenes Esperon, Jr., at AFP Southern Luzon Commander Lieutenant General Antonio Parlade, Jr. sa public hearing na inumpisahan ni Senator Panfilo Lacson.

Pinabulaanan naman ang isyu ng mga naturang opisyal na nagsabing mismong CPP-NPA ang umaming kasama ang Gabriela at iba pang legal front organizations sa kanilang party building.

Nasabi na rin ni Gen. Gapay na marami nang nakasagupa ang militar na mga estudyanteng kasapi umano ng front organizations ng CPP-NPA gaya ng Gabriela. Karamihan sa kanila ay nasawi sa sagupaan.

Nagsalita rin sa nasabing hearing ang dating komunistang rebelde na si Jeffrey “Ka Eric” Celiz na nagpatotoo sa ginagawang recruitment ng CPP-NPA sa mga menor. Ilang datihang rebelde rin ang nagsabing na-recruit sila ng CPP-NPA sa pamamagitan ng ilang progresibong student organizations.

Patuloy naman ang peace and development projects ng AFP bilang kasapi ng National Task Force to End Local Communist Armed Conflict upang mapigil ang recruitment at pagdami ng mga diumano’y mapanlinlang na mga komunistang terorista sa ilang vulnerable areas.
