Itinaas na sa severe tropical storm mula sa tropical storm ang Bagyong Siony nitong Miyerkules ng hapon habang binabaybay ang Philippine Sea.

Sa pinakahuling bulletin na inilabas ng Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) kahapon, namataan si Bagyong Siony sa layong 735 kilometro silangan ng Batanes. 

Ayon sa PAGASA, inaasahang mabagal ang kilos ng severe tropical storm na ito na maaaring magtagal ng anim hanggang 12 oras.

Inaasahang maaapektuhan nito ang Batanes at Babuyan Islands ngayong Huwebes ng gabi hanggang sa Biyernes ng umaga, Nobyembre 6 at may posibilidad umano na mag-landfall o close approach ito.

Ayon sa PAGASA, may maximum sustained winds na 95 kms/hr at lakas ng bugso ng hangin na aabot sa 115 kms/hr si Bagyong Siony. Maaari pa itong lumakas habang papalapit sa Northern Luzon o bago mag-landfall at posibleng umabot sa 125 kms/hr ang lakas ng hanging dala nito.

Itinaas na sa Signal No. 1 ang mga sumusunod na lugar:

  •   Northern part of mainland Cagayan (Santa Ana, Gonzaga)
  •   Eastern part of Babuyan Islands (Balintang Island, Babuyan Island, Didicas Island, at Camiguin Islands kabilang na ang mga adjoining islets)

Si Bagyong Siony ang ika-19 na tropical cyclone na pumasok sa bansa ngayong 2020.
