Pag-uusapan pa muna umano ng National Immunization Technical Advisory Group (NITAG) kung kaninong priority group ibibigay ang bakunang gawa ng AstraZeneca.

Ayon kay Cabinet Secretary Karlo Nograles, may posibilidad aniya na ibigay ang mga ito sa matatandang medical workers matapos tanggihan ng NITAG ang rekomendasyon na gamitin sa mga ito ang bakunang mula sa Sinovac.

“We will leave it to the NITAG to give us their recommendations in terms of kung anong brand ng vaccine ang puwedeng gamitin sa anong sektor ng population, maging iyon sa prioritization ng sectors ng population,” ani Nograles.

Dagdag pa niya, “Itong brand na ito ay idadaan muli sa recommendations ng NITAG… We will wait for the advise of the NITAG in terms of saan gagamitin itong AstraZeneca vaccine.”

Kamakailan matatandaang tinanggihan ng NITAG ang rekomendasyon ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases ang pagbibigay ng alokasyon ng bakuna para sa influencers na makatutulong umano upang palakasin ang vaccine confidence ng publiko.

Kaugnay nito, nilinaw din ni Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Jr. ang isyu kung bakit 487,200 doses lamang ng AstraZeneca ang dumating sa bansa sa halip na 525,600 doses na inasahang dumating sa bansa nitong Lunes, Marso 1.

Ayon pa sa Kalihim, nagkaroon umano ng aberya dulot ng logistical at packaging constraints sapagkat commercial flight lamang ang gamit sa pagbiyahe ng bakuna papunta sa bansa.
