Matapos ang aberya sa pagdating ng mahigit 500,000 na doses ng bakuna mula sa AstraZeneca, inanunsyo ng Palasyo na tuloy na ang pagdating ng mga ito ngayong Huwebes ng gabi, Marso 4.

“This is to confirm that the Philippines is set to receive 487,200 doses of AstraZeneca vaccines tomorrow, March 4, 2021, 7:30 PM, as part of the first round of allocated doses from the COVAX facility,” ulat ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque kahapon.

Tulad ng seremonya sa pagtanggap ng Sinovac, personal din umanong dadalo si Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte upang tanggapin ang bakuna mula sa COVAX facility ayon kay Sec. Roque.

Inaasahang magagamit ang parating na bakunang ito sa mahigit-kumulang 240,000 healthcare workers sa bansa kabilang na ang mga tumangging magpabakuna ng Sinovac vaccine.

Sa ulat ni Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Jr., tatanggap ang Pilipinas ng 5.5 hanggang 9.2 milyong doses ng bakuna mula sa AstraZeneca at 117,000 doses ng bakuna naman mula sa Pfizer sa pamamagitan ng COVAX facility.
