Iginiit ng Palasyo na kailangan ng hiwalay na batas upang maparusahan ang mga indibidwal na lalabag at sisingit sa pila ng priority list na nakasaad sa National Vaccination Plan.

Nanindigan si Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na kailangan ito matapos ihayag ng Department of the Interior and Local Government na wala umanong kaparusahan na ipapataw sa mga ordinaryong taong sisingit sa vaccine priority list.

“Kung ang mga nag-skip ng line ay taong gobyerno, mayroon po tayong tinatawag na [Jovito] Salonga Law, iyong Code of Ethics for all public officers. Pero para sa ibang tao, kinakailangan talaga nating pumasa ng batas, magpasa ng batas… Kinakailangan ng batas na nagsasabi na ang isang bagay ay kriminal bago ka puwedeng magpataw ng parusa,” pahayag ni Sec. Roque.

“Kinakailangan talaga natin ng national quarantine law ‘no, na magpapataw ng mga parusa among others dito sa mga taong hindi susunod sa vaccination deployment plan,” dagdag pa ni Sec. Roque.

Ipinag-utos na rin ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte ang pagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon matapos mabakunahan ang aktor na si Mark Anthony Fernandez na hindi kabilang sa healthcare workforce.

Ayon pa kay Pangulong Duterte, maaari umanong magkulang ang bakunang inilaan sa mga healthcare workers mula sa COVAX facility dahil sa insidenteng ito.

Kaugnay nito, naglabas na rin ng show-cause order ang Department of the Interior and Local Government sa limang opisyal ng gobyerno na sumingit at nabakunahan na rin.
