BFP modernization bill aprubado na sa mababang kapulungan

Inaprubahan na ng House of Representatives ang Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) Modernization Act o House Bill 7406 sa pinal na pagbasa nito sa mababang kapulungan kung saan nakakuha ito ng 223 affirmative votes.

Isinusulong ng panukalang batas ang pagkakaroon at implementasyon ng Fire Protection Modernization Program para sa pagkakaroon ng mas pinaigting na fire protection service, specialized services development, technology development, at iba pa.

Isinasaad dito na ang lahat ng lokal na sangay ng pamahalaan ay magkakaroon ng fire protection service. Magkakaroon din ng emergency hotline na konektado sa 911 hotline program ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG).

Maaari na ngayong pigilan at puksain ng BFP ang mga sunog sa iba’t ibang establisyimento, bahay, at iba pang imprastraktura na matatagpuan sa lahat ng uri ng economic zone.

Kasama rin sa modernization program ang pagbili ng mga bago at modernisadong gamit para sa BFP at tuloy-tuloy na training para sa mga empleyado at tauhan nito.

Inaatasan ang ahensiya na magsagawa ng buwanang fire prevention campaigns sa mga lugar at magtayo ng arson laboraties sa iba’t ibang rehiyon na may kapasidad na magsagawa ng research at testing.

Ang fire protection bureau ay pinahihintulutan din ng panukalang batas na mag-issue ng fire safety clearance bago ang pagbibigay ng building permit kung mapapatunayang ang mga establisyimento ay sumusunod sa Fire Code at iba pang safety standards.
