Sa kasagsagan ng pandemya ay patuloy ang konstruksyon ng mga proyekto partikular na ang mga transport infrastructure sa ilalim ng “Build, Build, Build” program kasama na ang big-ticket projects na inaasahang magbubukas ngayong taon ayon kay Department of Transportation (DOTr) Secretary Arthur Tugade.

“Habang tayo’y nakiki-baka at nilalabanan ang pandemya, ang Build, Build, Build ho ay tuloy-tuloy. Hindi ho ito nawala,” saad ni Tugade kagabi sa Talk to the People ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte.

Sa pulong kasama si PRRD, iniulat ni Tugade ang listahan ng mga ongoing at kumpleto ng transport infrastructure projects tulad ng konstruksyon ng bagong passenger terminal building ng Calbayog Airport. 

“Handa na nating i-inaugurate sa April 22. Napakaganda ho, magugulat ho kayo talagang puwedeng ipagmalaki,” saad niya.

Nakatakda rin umanong matapos at mag-operate ang Clark International Airport Terminal sa Hunyo hanggang Hulyo ng 2021, habang ang Bicol International Airport ay makukumpleto sa Hunyo o Hulyo at magsisimulang patakbuhin bago matapos ang taon. 

“Sa airport ho, nakatapos na tayo ng mahigit 120 airport projects from new airports to runway to the terminal to asphalt overlay to the extension of runways, taxiways, and apron, lahat po ‘yan,” paliwanag ni Tugade. 

Iniulat din ni Tugade ang pagkakumpleto ng konstruksyon ng ilang port. Ayon sa kaniya, sa kabuuan ay nasa 400 ports na ang naisaayos sa buong bansa, at inaasahang may 100 port projects pa ang makukumpleto bago matapos ang taon. 

Binanggit din ng kalihim ang ilang transport projects tulad ng Free Ride for Health Workers Program, Free Ride Service para sa mga APOR, at Service Contracting Program na nagbibigay ng karagdagang kita sa mga driver at operator ng mga pampublikong transportasyon.
