COMELEC: ‘VOTER REGISTRATION HANGGANG SABADO NA SIMULA PEBRERO 20’

Simula Pebrero 20, maaari nang magparehistro tuwing Sabado ang mga nais bumoto sa darating na halalan sa 2022. 

Ito ang pahayag ng Commission on Elections (Comelec) upang mahikayat ang mas marami pang mamamayan na magparehistro para sa darating na halalan na gaganapin sa Mayo 2022. 

“Ang registration simula February 20 ay hanggang Sabado na. Pwede na kayong magparehistro ng hanggang Sabado mula alas 8 hanggang alas 5 at huwag natin sasayangin ang pagkakataon maging parte ng demokarasya,” pahayag ni Comelec Spokesperson James Jimenez. 

Ayon kay Jimenez, mababa pa ang bilang ng mga nagparehistro na para sa nasabing eleksyon. 

“Four million ang expected and nasa 1.3 million palang tayo, masyadong malayo,” paglalahad ng tagapagsalita ng Comelec. 

Sinabi rin ni Jimenez na magbibigay ng karagdagang kompensasyon ang kaniyang tanggapan sa mga empleyadong aatasang umagapay sa mga magpapatala sa araw ng Sabado. 

“Nag-authorize na ‘yong aming Commission en banc na magbigay ng kaunting overtime para doon sa mga personnel natin para ma-compensate naman ‘yong kanilang panahon. Palagi nating sinasabi na talagang kakailanganin ng ganitong klaseng sakripisyo on all sides kasi nga napakalayo ng agwat ng expectation natin versus what we actually have right now,” saad ni Jimenez.
