Ipinasa ng Metro Manila Council (MMC) kamakailan ang resolusyon kung saan nakasaad na mariin nilang hinihikayat ang community pantry organizers na makipag-ugnayan sa kanilang mga lokal na pamahalaan upang masigurong mahigpit na ipinatutupad ang health protocols.

Layon umano ng resolusyon na ito na matiyak na hindi mababalewala ang epekto ng ipinatupad na enhanced community quarantine sa NCR Plus kamakailan.

“Whereas, the sacrifices endured and the gains accumulated during the ECQ and MECQ must not be put to waste by a disregard of the prohibition against mass gatherings, observance of social distancing, and the wearing of face masks and face shields,” saad sa MMDA Resolution No. 21-08 Series of 2021.

Kasalukuyang nasa ilalim ng modified enhanced community quarantine ang buong Metro Manila at kalapit nitong probinsya matapos ang dalawang linggong enhanced community quarantine dahil na rin sa biglang pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19 bunsod ng pagkalat ng bagong variant nito.

Pormal na inilabas ng MMDA at MMC ang resolusyong ito matapos makiusap ang Department of the Interior and Local Government sa organizers ng community pantries na makipag-ugnayan muna sa kanilang lokal na pamahalaan at humingi ng tulong sa pulisya upang maisaayos ang crowd control at masigurong maayos na ipinatutupad ang health protocols.

Matatandaang nasangkot sa kontrobersyang red-tagging ang ilang organizers ng community pantries. Naungkat rin ang isyu tungkol sa pagsunod sa health protocols sa mga community pantries matapos itong dagsain ng mga tao.
