Naghahanda na ang Bureau of Customs (BOC) sa pagpasok ng pinakahihintay na COVID-19 vaccine sa bansa.

Ito’y sa kabila ng mga report ng ilegal na pagkalat ng “black market vaccines” sa Pilipinas.

Mas pinaghuhusay pa ng BOC ang data gathering at coordination nito sa mga tagapagpatupad ng batas para labanan ang smuggling ng nasabing mga vaccine.

Samantala, plano naman ng ahensyang gamitin muli ang one-stop shops nito para sa mabilisang release ng vaccine. Napatunayan nang epektibo ang ganitong proseso sa release ng personal protective equipment noong kasagsagan ng pandemya.

Inaasahang mas magiging mabilis pa ang operasyon ng one-stop shops dahil sa online systems ng port customer care centers.

Nitong Enero 13-14 ay nakipag-ugnayan na ang Port of NAIA sa iba’t ibang ahensya ng gobyerno para sa mabilisang release ng vaccines pagkadaong sa bansa. Tinatrabaho na rin ng ibang ports ang kaparehong proseso.
