DA SINIGURO ANG STABLE NA SUPLAY NG ISDA SA NCR PLUS

Siniguro ng Department of Agriculture (DA) sa publiko ngayong araw, Abril 20, na ang suplay at presyo ng isda ay stable na partikular na sa mga lugar na kasama sa NCR Plus.

“This favorable condition was due to the peak season in the country’s major fishing grounds, as well as from the DA’s efforts to ensure food security amid the pandemic,” saad ni DA Secretary William Dar.

Ayon sa kalihim, mula Abril 8 hanggang 14 ay mayroong 3,760 metric tons (MT) ng isda ang ibinagsak sa Navotas Fish Port Complex na mas mataas ng 200 MT kumpara sa naunang linggo ng Abril.

Dagdag pa ni Dar, ayon umano sa mga ulat ng Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) at Philippine Fisheries Development Authority (PFDA), kabilang sa mga isdang ibinagsak ang galunggong na nasa tinatayang 2,280 MT at ang iba ay kombinasyon na ng ibang isda tulad ng turay, tulingan, tamban, pusit, at iba pa. 

Ang mga ito ay nahuli mula sa pangunahing fishing grounds ng bansa sa northern Palawan, Zamboanga Peninsula, at Visayan Sea. 

Masagana rin ang suplay ng bangus at tilapia na nagmula sa mga fish pen at fishpond sa Bulacan, Pangasinan, Taal Lake sa Batangas, at Laguna de Bay.

Bilang resulta, nanatiling stable ang kasalukuyang presyo ng isda sa mga palengke sa NCR Plus ayon kay Dar. 

Sa sampung retail markets at isang wholesale market sa sa NCR, ang presyo ng sariwang galunggong ay naglalaro sa Php180 hanggang Php240 kada kilo, Php120 hanggang Php130 kada kilo sa tilapia, habang nananatili sa Php180 kada kilo ang presyo ng bangus. 

Malaking pagbabago ito kumpara sa presyo ng nasabing mga produkto noong huling mga buwan ng 2020 at unang quarter ng 2021 kung saan ang presyo ng galunggong ay umabot sa Php300 kada kilo, Php220 kada kilo ang bangus, at Php160 kada kilo ang tilapia. 

“In the months ahead, we will continue to make fishery products and food, in general, accessible and affordable to all consumers, particularly in the NCR Plus and in other urban communities, where the threat of hunger looms,” dagdag ni Dar.
