Pinag-aaralan ngayon ng Department of Education (DepEd)  ang posibleng pagpapalawig ng kasalukuyang school year upang mapunan ang mga naging pagsubok ng distance learning set-up dulot ng pandemya.

Ayon kay DepEd Undersecretary Diosdado San Antonio, pinag-uusapan na umano ng mga opisyal ng DepEd ang posibleng pagpapalawig ng academic calendar para sa school year ng 2021 hanggang 2022.

Wala pa mang pinal na desisyon, kinukunsidera na umano ng DepEd na magpatupad ng ilang pagbabago sa kasalukuyang school calendar.

“Wala pang definite number of weeks na extension pero isa ‘yan sa tinitingnan namin,” ani Usec. San Antonio.

Gagawin umano ang posibleng extension ng academic calendar upang mabigyan ng oportunidad ang mga estudyante na makumpleto ang kanilang academic requirements.

“Para ang lahat ng mag-aaral, lalo na iyong medyo nagkakaroon ng challenges, ay mabigyan ng pagkakataon na maisumite ang mga kailangang gawin,” pahayag ni Usec. Antonio.

Naitala ng DepEd na umabot sa 25 milyong estudyante ang kasalukuyang enrolled sa parehong pampubliko at pribadong mga eskwelahan.
