DILG kailangan ng dagdag na pondo para sa contact tracers

Inamin ni Department of Interior and Local Government (DILG) Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya na malapit nang maubos ang pondong nakalaan para sa contact tracers at hanggang Hunyo na lamang umano ang itatagal nito.

Ayon kay Usec. Malaya, humingi na ang ahensya ng dagdag na pondo sa Kongreso upang mapaigting pa nila ang isinasagawang contact tracing at masiguro ang serbisyo ng contact tracers mula Hulyo hanggang Disyembre.

“The DILG will request Congress to appropriate funds for the renewal of these contact tracers. Should the situation persist, we will have enough contact tracers until the end of the year,” paglilinaw ni Usec. Malaya.

Bagama’t maisasabay sa karagdagang pondo sa paglabas ng Bayanihan 3, umaasa si Usec. Malaya sa mga mambabatas na agarang mailalabas at magagamit ang pondong ito.

Nilinaw din niya na walang koneksyon ang pondo sa contact tracing ratio ng bansa at aniya, nakadepende na umano ang performance ng contact tracers sa bawat lokal na pamahalaan.

Hindi rin umano nagkulang ang DILG na paalalahanan ang mga lokal na pamahalaan upang lalo pang paigtingin ang kanilang contact tracing efforts.

Base sa kanyang estima, kinakailangan umano ng isang bilyong piso upang mapondohan ang 135,000 contact tracers na kailangan upang mapanatili ang Department of Health standard na isang contact tracer sa bawat 800 contacts.
