DILG: MGA MAYOR SA NCR, DAPAT MAGKASUNDO SA PARE-PAREHONG CURFEW HOURS

Sa isang news release ngayong araw, inudyukan ng Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) ang mga alkalde ng 16 na lungsod at isang munisipalidad ng Metro Manila na mag-adopt ng pare-parehong curfew hours upang mas madali sa publiko ang pagsunod dahil karamihan umano ay nakatira at nagtatrabaho sa iba’t ibang LGUs.

Ayon kay DILG spokesperson Undersecretary Jonathan Malaya, ang pagkakaroon ng iba-ibang curfew hours ay magdudulot lamang ng pagkalito sa publiko.

“Mahirap po sa ating mga kababayan kung paiba-iba ang curfew hours dahil malilito po sila sa pagsunod nito . . . It would also be easier for the National Capital Region Police Office to implement the curfew if the hours are uniform across Metro Manila,” saad ni Malaya.

Nauna nang ipinag-utos ni DILG officer in charge Bernardo Florece, Jr. ang mga LGU at ang Philippine National Police (PNP) na hulihin ang mga quarantine violators, magpatupad ng curfew, at paigtingin ang minimum health standards sa mga barangay kasunod ng pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19 cases sa nakalipas na tatlong araw. 

Ayon sa ahensya, nakadepende pa rin sa mga mayor ang curfew hours na ipapatupad ngunit iminumungkahi nitong simulan ang curfew ng 10 pm.

“Violators should be fined or otherwise penalized for violating all health protocols, especially the curfew,” dagdag niya. 

Ipinag-utos na rin ng ahensya ang deployment ng karagdagang contact tracers sa mga lugar na may patuloy na pagtaas ng COVID-19 cases upang tulungan ang mga lokal na contact tracing team sa pagtukoy sa mga nakahalubilo ng mga nagpositibo.
