DOE SINIGURONG MAY SAPAT NA SUPLAY NG KURYENTE PARA SA COVID-19 VACCINE STORAGE AT DISTRIBUSYON NITO

Inihayag ng Department of Energy (DOE) na wala umanong dapat ikabahala ang publiko sapagkat may sapat na suplay ng kuryente ang bansa upang maimbak nang maayos ang mga paparating na bakuna sa bansa ngayong buwan.

Ayon kay DOE Undersecretary William “Wimpy” Fuentebella, mayroon umanong tatlong power supply backups ang departamento upang masigurong maayos na maiimbak ang mga bakuna at walang maging hadlang sa distribusyon ng mga ito.

“Ito ay pareho sa ginawa natin noong SEA Games kung saan meron tayong tatlong backup para masiguro na talagang hindi magkakaroon ng interruption,” pahayag ni Usec. Fuentebella.

Dagdag pa niya, “Ito [power supply] ay manggagaling sa NGCP (National Grid Corporation of the Philippines) dahil meron tayong ancillary services, ito ay ‘yung sa buong sistema natin.”

Bukod pa rito, mayroon din umano silang standby power supply sa mga pasilidad ng distribution utilities tulad ng Manila Electric Company at sa iba pang electric cooperatives.

Magtatalaga rin umano sila ng generator sets sa ilang vaccine rollout areas upang masigurong tuluy-tuloy ang suplay ng kuryente habang isinasagawa ang pagbabakuna.

Ani Usec. Fuentebella, “All hands should be on deck. Ibig sabihin ay naka-standby ang ating technical personnel na nakatutok kung saan itinalaga ng IATF or ng local government unit yung pagro-rollout ng bakuna.” 

Handa na rin umano ang DOE sa mga aberyang maaaring sapitin sa araw ng distribusyon ng bakuna. Paglilinaw ni Usec. Fuentebella, “Ang ginagawa natin sa Task Force Energy Resiliency at sa Power Bureau, we are anticipating kung ano ang pwedeng mangyaring problema, and then we try to come up with strategies tulad ng pre-positioning, paglalagay ng mga gamit doon sa areas na medyo problematic.”
