DOH: ‘HEALTH ASSESSMENT ISASAGAWA MUNA BAGO ANG PAGBIBIGAY NG BAKUNA’

Ayon sa Department of Health (DOH), dapat munang suriin ng mga mangangasiwa sa pagbabakuna ang medical history ng isang indibidwal bago ito bakunahan laban sa COVID-19.

“Meron pong part ng assessment diyan po sa ating registration for this vaccination para ma-determine natin kung sino ang pwedeng bigyan at sinong hindi pwedeng bigyan,” pahayag ni DOH Undersecreatry at Spokesperson Maria Rosario Vergeire.

Ayon pa sa tagapagsalita ng Kagawaran, mahalaga aniya na ang isang indibidwal ay may malusog na pangangatawan bago ito mabakunahan.

Sa kasalukuyan, ang COVID-19 vaccine na gawa ng kumpanyang Pfizer pa lamang ang nabigyan na ng emergency use authorization ng Food and Drug Administration.

Ayon kay Usec. Vergeire, ang mga indibidwal na mayroong karamdaman, at maging ang mga buntis, ay maaaring mabakunahan ng COVID-19 vaccine mula sa Pfizer, ngunit kinakailangan muna nilang sumangguni sa kanilang mga doktor.

Inirerekomenda rin ang naturang bakuna sa mga indibidwal na dati nang nagkaroon ng COVID-19 upang maiwasan ang pagkahawang muli ng mga ito sa virus.

Samantala, hindi naman inirerekomenda ang naturang bakuna sa mga indibidwal na may edad 16 pababa.

“Hindi pa nasusubukan itong bakuna na ito sa mga bata. Hindi po muna pwedeng ibigay sa mga bata,” paglalahad ni Vergeire.
