DOH MAGSASAGAWA NG INFORMATION DRIVE UKOL SA COVID-19 VACCINE, TINIYAK SA PUBLIKO NA LIGTAS ANG BAKUNANG DARATING SA BANSA

Inanunsyo nitong Martes, Nobyembre 24 ng Department of Health (DOH) ang plano nitong magsagawa ng information drive para sa COVID-19 vaccine upang himukin ang publiko na magpabakuna at alisin ang pangamba ng mga ito kaugnay sa seguridad ng bakuna.

Ayon kay DOH Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire, kasalukuyan nang inaayos ng health officials ang gagawing information drive upang ihanda ang publiko sa parating na bakuna.

“I very much agree with that. Fina-finalize lang po namin ang plano and mag-uumpisa na po kami ng engagement of the community to mobilize them,” pahayag ni Usec. Vergeire.

Dagdag pa niya, noong Oktubre pa nila sinimulang pagplanuhan ang information campaign na ito matapos ianunsyo ng World Health Organization (WHO) na magsasagawa ng clinical trials sa bansa.

Matatandaang kabilang ang Pilipinas sa mga lumahok sa WHO Solidarity Trial para sa bakuna sa COVID-19. Inaasahang dalawa hanggang tatlong libong volunteers mula sa bansa ang makikiisa rito.

Nakipagkita na rin umano ang DOH sa ilang opisyal ng lokal na pamahalaan na kabilang ang ilang residente sa gagawing clinical trials ng WHO upang matulungan sila sa gagawing information drive.

“Dapat supposedly mag-uumpisa na during that time (October), nagkaroon lang ng kaunting delays. Noong sinasabi natin yan, umupo na tayo, we met with local governments which were identified na part ng of this clinical trial para ma-initially engage sila, they could mobilize their community members already,” ani Usec. Vergeire.

Pinanatag din ng tagapagsalita ng DOH ang takot ng ilan sa seguridad ng mga parating na bakuna sa bansa at aniya, lahat ng bakunang ipamamahagi sa publiko ay dadaan sa masusing inspeksyon.

“Kaya tayo mayroong very stringent na ginagawang regulation ngayon kasi ayaw po natin magbigay ng bakuna na hindi ligtas at hindi efficacious para sa ating mga kababayan, hindi po iyon fake, ang ating lang pong ibibigay through the government are those registered by Food and Drug Administration,” paglilinaw ni Usec. Vergeire.
