Matapos makatanggap ng kritisismo sa publiko, nilinaw ni Department of Health (DOH) Secretary Francisco Duque III na science-based umano ang pagsusuot ng face shield.

Kamakailan, kinakailangan lamang magsuot ng face shield sa loob ng mga establisyimento katulad ng malls.

“We are guided by science, evidence, experts. Malinaw ang sinabi nila na pag gumamit ng face mask, face shield, at may one meter physical distancing, there is 99% reduction of risk,” paliwanag ni Sec. Duque.

Dagdag pa niya, “Huwag tayo mapagod kasi ang COVID-19 hindi marunong mapagod. Hindi nagbabakasyon ang COVID-19.”

Nagbigay-babala rin si Sec. Duque sa peligrong maaaring sapitin ng mga lalabag sa minimum health standards.

“Kapag hindi po tayo sumunod sa minimum health standards, mamimiligro po ang ating pamilya,” paalala ni Sec. Duque.

Ayon din kay Sec. Duque, lumampas na sa isa ang COVID-19 daily attack rate at reproduction rate sa 12 siyudad sa Metro Manila. Nangyari umano ito walong araw bago sumapit ang Pasko kung saan inaasahang magdiriwang ang mga Pilipino kasama ang kanilang mga pamilya at mahal sa buhay.

Dahil dito, nanawagan ang DOH sa publiko na iwasan muna ang family reunions at magdiwang na lamang sa kani-kanilang bahay upang mapigilan ang pagbugso ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa.
