DOH pinag-iingat ang publiko laban sa pekeng contact tracers

“The public is reminded that DOH does not have a ‘contact tracing team’.”

Ito ang nilinaw ng Department of Health (DOH) sa inilabas nitong public advisory noong Lunes matapos itong makatanggap ng mga balita sa publiko tungkol sa mga indibidwal na tumatawag at nagpapakilalang miyembro umano ng “DOH Contact Tracing Team”.

Ayon sa Kagawaran, ang modus na ito ay ginagawa upang makakuha ng personal na impormasyon at pera mula sa mga mabibiktima. Dahil dito, pinag-iingat ng DOH ang publiko laban sa nasabing nagpapanggap na contact tracers.

Pakiusap ng Kagawaran sa publiko, kung magpakilala ang mga ito na miyembro ng local government unit (LGU) contact tracing team ay suriin muna ang pagkakakilanlan ng mga ito at siguruhing ni-refer sila ng Barangay Health Emergency Response Teams.

Ipinayo rin ng DOH sa publiko na huwag magbigay ng personal na impormasyon sa mga mananamantalang ito, at bagkus ay ibaba ang telepono, tandaan ang numero ng tumawag, at agad itong i-block. 

Iminumungkahi rin na kung makatanggap ng ganitong tawag ay ipagbigay-alam agad sa DOH Call Center Hotline na (632) 8651-7800 local 5003-5004 o mag-email sa callcenter@doh.gov.ph

Nakipag-ugnayan na ang DOH sa Philippine National Police at sa National Bureau of Investigation para imbestigahan ang nasabing pangyayari. 

“We condemn the perpetrators of these acts and warn the public against individuals who are taking advantage of this health crisis. The DOH will take the appropriate legal action, as necessary,” dagdag pa ng Kagawaran.
