Pabor ang Department of Tourism (DOT) na iklian ang quarantine period ng pabalik na OFWs sa bansa na kumpleto na ang bakuna.
Naghanda ng proposal ang DOT para sa ibang ahensya kaugnay sa pagpapaikli ng kasalukuyang sampung araw na quarantine period sa pitong araw.
Ayon kay DOT Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat, iminungkahi na nila sa DOT na babaan sa pitong araw ang quarantine period tulad ng kasalukuyang ipinapatupad sa bansang Thailand.
“We’re still proposing that, at least shorter quarantine days to encourage them to come home,” pahayag ni Sec. Puyat.
Dagdag pa niya, “We’re meeting tomorrow, Wednesday, with Department of Health, Department of Foreign Affairs, and other government agencies, including the health experts, because we now have more and more studies about fully vaccinated individuals.”
Isa umano sa kailangang pagtuunan ng pansin ang verification system upang makumpirma kung bakunado na ang isang indibidwal. Ayon kay Sec. Puyat kailangan umano nilang pagpulungan ito kasama ang DFA at International Air Transport Association.
“Kung ‘yung RT-PCR nga kasi napepeke, baka ito naman ‘yung next na ipepeke para makapasok sa isang lugar,” ani Sec. Puyat.
Nakahanda ring makipagpulong ang DOT sa Department of the Interior and Local Government, National Bureau of Investigation, at Philippine National Police para sa gagawing guidelines para rito.
