DSWD: ‘HIGIT P890M NA AYUDA, NAKAHANDA PARA SA MGA NASALANTA NG BAGYONG QUINTA’

“As of October 25, 2020, ang DSWD po ay mayroon na pong stockpiles kasama na rito ang food packs at standby funds amounting to more than P890 million or P890,596,116.79. That’s P890 million. Ang mga ito ay nasa DSWD (Department of Social Welfare and Development) Central Office at iba’t ibang field offices ng ahensya.”

Ito ang ipinahayag ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque sa ginanap na virtual briefing noong Lunes, Oktubre 26, bilang pagtiyak na may sapat na pondong nakahanda ang DSWD upang matulungan ang mga biktima ng bagyong Quinta sa gitna ng kinakaharap na pandemya. 

Ayon pa sa tagapagsalita ng Pangulo, naglabas na ng memorandum ang National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) tungkol sa mga panuntunang kailangang sundin ng local government units bilang pagtugon sa mga apektado ng bagyo sa gitna ng krisis na kinakaharap bunsod ng Coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19). Kabilang na rito ang pag-iingat sa pamamahagi ng relief goods at pamamahala ng evacuation areas. 

“Mag-preposition na ng relief goods, magkaroon na ng evacuation centers kung saan susundin ang minimum health standards, kagaya ng pagsuot ng mask at ng face shields at mayroon din pong reminder ang NDRRMC sa lahat ng lokal na pamahalaan, lahat po ng magsisintomas, kinakailangan i-isolate po sa mga evacuation centers,” ani Spokesperson Roque.

Samantala, sa hiwalay namang virtual briefing, inilahad ni Department of Health Undersecretary Rosario Vergeire ang mga patnubay hinggil sa mga dapat gawin sakaling may kakitaan ng sintomas ng COVID-19 sa evacuees.

“Ang ina-advise natin, bago papasukin sa evacuation site, do the symptoms screening. Lahat ng may sintomas hindi na pwedeng sumama doon, dalhin na doon sa quarantine facility,” paliwanag ni Usec. Vergeire.
