DSWD SA SENIOR CITIZENS, PWDs SA NCR PLUS: ‘MAGPADALA NG KINATAWAN SA PAGKUHA NG AYUDA’

Hinikayat ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang senior citizens at mga indibidwal na may kapansanan sa NCR Plus, na binubuo ng Metro Manila, Rizal, Bulacan, Cavite, at Laguna, na huwag nang lumabas ng kani-kanilang tahanan, bagkus ay magpadala na lamang ng kinatawan upang kunin ang tulong-pinansyal mula sa kanilang lokal na pamahalaan.

Ipinahayag ng DSWD ang apilang ito nitong Lunes, Abril 26, sa gitna ng patuloy na pamamahagi ng ayuda ng pamahalaan para sa mga kwalipikadong residenteng naapektuhan ng noo’y pagdeklarang muli ng enhanced community quarantine sa mga nasabing lugar mula Marso 29 hanggang Abril 11.

“Seniors and PWDs (persons with disabilities) may send younger and healthier members of their families as their authorized representatives to claim their aid,” pahayag ng Kagawaran.

Para makuha ang naturang ayuda, kinakailangang magpakita ng identification card o ID ang kinatawan. Kinakailangan ding dalhin ang ID ng senior citizen o PWD at ang authorization letter na may lagda ng benepisyaryo. 

Ayon sa DSWD, bagama’t mayroong local government units (LGUs) na nagbabahay-bahay upang ipamahagi ang nasabing tulong-pinansyal, mayroon ding LGUs na piniling maglaan ng malalaking lugar kung saan kinakailangang pumila ang mga benepisyaryo para makuha ang kanilang ayuda.

“The Department continues to put (a) premium on the safety and welfare of the older persons and PWDs especially during this ongoing global health crisis,” saad ng tanggapan.

Tiniyak din ng DSWD na makukumpleto ang pamamahagi ng cash aid sa mga kwalipikadong benepisyaryo bago pa man sumapit ang Mayo 15.

Matatandaang noong Abril 20 ay inaprubahan ng Malacañang ang pagpapalawig sa deadline ng pamamahagi ng naturang ayuda hanggang Mayo 15.

Sa pinakahuling tala noong Abril 23, umabot na sa higit P7.47 bilyon ang naipamahaging tulong-pinansyal sa higit 7.4 milyong benepisyaryo sa NCR Plus.
