Tutulungan ng Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) ang LGUs sa paghawak at pamamahagi ng Php23 bilyong ayuda sa 22.9 milyong benepisyaryo sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng enhanced community quarantine (ECQ).
Sa isang briefing noong Lunes, Marso 29, nangako si DSWD Secretary Rolando Bautista na gagawin ng ahensya ang kanilang tungkulin at magtatalaga umano ang Kagawaran ng grievance mechanism upang matiyak ang maayos na distribusyon ng pondo.
“On our side, we will also set up grievance mechanism, although sa level siguro ng LGU, they should also have a grievance mechanism so magkakaron po tayo ng check and balance. ‘Pag ang grievance ay umabot po sa amin, then we will immediately coordinate with the DILG and at the same time, with the local chief executives,” saad niya.
Noong nakaraang taon ay naatasan ang DSWD na tukuyin kung sinu-sino ang magiging mga benepisyaryo ng Social Amelioration Program sa ilalim ng Bayanihan to Heal as One Act at Bayanihan 2.
Ngayon ay inatasan naman ng Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte ang ahensya na magsagawa ng counterchecking pagkatapos ng distribusyon.
