Humiling umano ang mga alkalde sa Metro Manila ng extension para sa pamimigay ng cash aid na apektado ng ipinatupad na enhanced community quarantine kamakailan.

Sa pahayag ni Metropolitan Manila Development Authority Chairman Benhur Abalos, may ilan umanong lokal na pamahalaan na nahirapan sa pamimigay ng ayuda sa loob ng itinakdang 15 araw ng Department of the Interior and Local Government.

Bukod pa rito, nitong Abril 6 lamang o mahigit isang linggo mula ng isailalim sa ECQ ang Metro Manila nang matanggap ng mga lokal na pamahalaan sa Metro Manila ang pondo para sa ayuda.

“Mahihirapang matapos iyong sinasabing 15 days… Susulat kami sa DILG in the next few days para humingi ng palugit,” ani Abalos.

Isa pa umanong dahilan sa mabagal na proseso ng pamimigay ng ayuda ang pagtiyak na mapapanatili ang physical distancing sa distribution centers.

“We also have to balance, e. Kung bibilisan mo, baka magsiksikan iyong mga tao. Kaya kinakailangang ibabahay-bahay mo iyan, e. Pero kung ibabahay-bahay mo iyan, hahaba naman ng panahon,” muling giit ni Abalos.

Kamakailan, naglabas din ng pahayag ang Department of the Interior and Local Government na bukas sila sa suhestiyong i-extend ang pamimigay ng ayuda lalo pa sa mga malalaking lungsod ng Metro Manila.

“We have to be realistic. (They are) not just working on ayuda (aid). They’re also working on vaccination. They’re doing a lot of things all at the same time. We encourage them to meet the deadline, but if these large cities (cannot do it) we will consider an extension,” ani DILG Usec. Jonathan Malaya.
