Iniimbestigahan na ng AFP WESCOM ang ulat ng diumano’y harassment ng Chinese PLA Navy at Coast Guard vessels sa grupo ng journalists na nakasakay sa isang watercraft sa EEZ.
Humingi na umano ang AFP ng mga raw footage at larawan sa grupo ng news reporters bilang parte ng imbestigasyon.
Kasabay nito, umapela ang AFP sa mga mamamahayag na maging maingat sa pagganap sa kani-kanilang mga trabaho.
“The AFP is concerned with the safety and well-being of our Kababayans that we have been forthright and transparent in our reporting about the situation in our EEZ,” pahayag ni AFP Spokesperson Marine Major General Edgard Arevalo.
Sinabi ng Tagapagsalita na binuksan na rin ng AFP ang ships at aircrafts nito sa midya para masigurong protektado ang huli habang tinutupad ang tawag ng kanilang propesyon.
