HEALTHCARE WORKERS MAKAKATANGGAP NG KARAGDAGANG MGA BENEPISYO

Nilagdaan na ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte nitong Lunes, Nobyembre 16, ang Administrative Orders (AOs) No. 35 at 36 na layong palawakin ang benepisyong natatanggap ng healthcare workers na nangunguna sa giyera kontra COVID-19 sa bansa.

Sa ilalim ng AO No. 35, makakakuha ng  active hazard duty pay na nagkakahalaga ng hanggang P3,000 kada buwan ang frontline human resources for health o HRHs sa mga pampublikong sektor habang umiiral ang state of national emergency sa bansa bunsod ng virus.

Samantala sa AO No. 36 naman, inatasan ng Pangulo ang mga ahensya ng gobyerno at mga lokal na pamahalaan na magbigay ng buwanang COVID-19 special risk allowance na umaabot ng hanggang P5,000 sa healthcare workers mula sa pampribado at pampublikong sektor na direktang nanggagamot at nag-aalaga ng mga pasyenteng may COVID-19. 

“There is a need to recognize the heroic and invaluable contributions of our public health workers throughout the country, who bravely and unselfishly risk their lives and health by being at the forefront of the national effort to address the public health emergency,” saad ng nasabing utos ng Pangulo.

Hindi naman mababawasan ng income tax ang naturang mga benepisyo. Parehong pro-rated din ang mga ito, o naka-base sa bilang ng araw sa isang buwan na personal na papasok ang frontliner sa kaniyang pinagtatrabahuhan.

Ang budget na gagamitin para sa nasabing mga karagdagang benepisyo sa medical frontliners ay magmumula sa alokasyon ng Republic Act No. 11494 o mas kilala bilang “Bayanihan to Recover as One Act”, kung saan mayroong P13.5 bilyong nakalaan para sa pagtugon laban sa pandemya. 

Ang nabanggit na Administrative Orders ay agad na magiging epektibo matapos mailathala ang mga ito sa Official Gazette o sa mga pahayagan.
