ILANG LUGAR SA BANSA NA MAY PAGTAAS NG KASO NG COVID, TINUKOY NG OCTA RESEARCH GROUP

Tinukoy ng OCTA Research Group nitong Linggo, Mayo 9, ang bagong areas of concern sa bansa na nagpakita ng patuloy na pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19 nitong nagdaang linggo.

Ayon kay OCTA research fellow at University of the Philippines professor Dr. Guido David kabilang ang Cagayan de Oro, Puerto Princesa City, Zamboanga City, at Bacolod City sa listahan.

“‘Yung Cagayan de Oro at Puerto Princesa, medyo may pagbilis sa pagtaas ng cases kaya definitely areas of concern sila,” pahayag ni David.

Dagdag din niya, “Pati sa Zamboanga City may spike ng cases for a period of a few weeks hanggang ngayon. Ibig sabihin hindi pa bumababa. Definitely, kailangan matutukan ‘yan ng local government.”

Base pa umano sa nakalap nilang impormasyon, clustered ang kaso ng COVID-19 sa Puerto Princesa at Cagayan de Oro.

“Sa ngayon medyo mataas yung attack rate nakikita natin especially sa Cagayan de Oro so, medyo concerning,” David.

Sa kabila nito, wala pa umanong dapat ikaalarma ang publiko sapagkat mas naging epektibo na umano ang mga lokal na pamahalaan sa pagharap sa ganitong kaso.

“So, hindi pa naman necessarily alarming ito kahit na nagkakaroon ng spike kasi agad nilang napapababa tulad ng nangyari for example sa Mountain Province and Kalinga earlier this year,” paliwanag ni David.

Sa isinagawang monitoring ng OCTA Research Group nitong Mayo 8, lumabas na bumaba na sa 0.69 ang reproduction number ng virus sa National Capital Region.

Kung magtutuluy-tuloy umano ito, maaaring bumaba ng hindi aabot sa dalawang libong bagong kaso ang COVID-19 sa NCR sa darating na Mayo 14.
