Nagdesisyon ang mga alkalde sa Metro Manila na muling isara ang mga gym, spa, at internet cafe habang ipinatutupad ang NCR Plus bubble mula Marso 23 hanggang sa Abril 4.

Ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, “Alinsunod sa guidelines na in-issue ng DTI na merong kapangyarihan ang mga LGUs na isara ang gyms, spas, at internet cafe, nagbotohan na po ang mga Metro Manila mayors at sarado po sa susunod na dalawang linggo ang gyms, spas, at internet cafe.”

Kinumpirma rin ito ni Metropolitan Manila Development Authority General Manager Jojo Garcia at aniya, “ This is upon the advice by the medical experts.”

Dahil dito, naglabas ng Memorandum Circular No. 21-11 series of 2021 ang Department of Trade and Industry kung saan nakasaad ang karagdagang panuntunan na kailangang sundin gayundin ang pagpapatupad ng mas pinaigting na monitoring upang maagapan ang patuloy na pagtaas ng kaso ng COVID-19.

Layon ng pansamantalang pagsasara ng mga naturang establisyimento na makontrol ang pagkalat ng virus sa Metro Manila sa kabila ng patuloy na pagsisikap ng gobyerno at ng lokal na pamahalaan na agapan ang patuloy na pagtaas ng kaso nitong mga nakaraang araw.

Noong Lunes, Marso 22, nakapagtala ang bansa ng 8,019 bagong kaso ng COVID-19 at sa kauna-unahang pagkakataon, umabot sa mahigit walong libo ang kaso matapos ang apat na araw na sunud-sunod na pagtaas ng kaso. Sa datos ng Department of Health, umabot na sa 671,792 ang kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa samantalang 12,972 naman ang nasawi dahil dito.
