Naghahanda na ang Department of Health (DOH) upang magpadala ng karagdagang medisina, personal protective equipment, at dagdag pondo sa mga ospital sa Mindanao na natukoy na COVID-19 hotspots.

Pinag-aaralan din umano ng DOH ang pagpapadala ng karagdagang health workers mula Metro Manila sa ilang lugar sa Mindanao, ayon kay Health Undersecretary Maria Rosario Vergeire.

Sa kasalukuyan, naungusan na ng Mindanao ang Metro Manila na siyang epicenter ng virus, sa bilis ng pagkalat ng virus.

“‘Yung [deployment] mga health workers, ating ina-assess because the National Capital Region also is trying to balance,” paliwanag ni Usec. Vergeire.

Dagdag pa niya, “Nasa moderate risk level pa rin po ang ating mga ospital [sa Metro Manila].” 

Nananatiling nasa 51 porsyento ang occupancy rate ng intensive care units sa Metro Manila habang nasa 40 porsyento ang kapasidad ng mga isolation beds.

“Minamapa natin. We are trying to assess the different capacities of our regions, especially in hospitals in regions where there are high number of cases,” ani Usec. Vergeire.

Sa datos ng DOH, 25 porsyento ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa ay mula sa Mindanao, 20 porsyento ang mula sa Visayas, 13 porsyento sa Metro Manila, at 40 porsyento mula sa iba’t ibang bahagi ng Luzon.

Nitong nakaraang linggo, isinailalim ang Davao City sa Modified Enhanced Community Quarantine samantalang nasa General Community Quarantine naman ang General Santos City dahil sa pagtaas ng bilang ng kaso sa mga naturang lugar.
