“I hope all government workers, officials are listening. This is a memorandum from me, the President, to Sec. Menardo Guevarra, Department of Justice (DOJ). Ang subject is [to] investigate allegations of corruption in the entire government. Lahat,” utos ni Pangulong Duterte.
Partikular na tinukoy ni Pangulong Duterte ang alegasyon ng kurapsyon sa Department of Public Works and Highways (DPWH) at aniya, sila ang una sa listahan.
“This is my second call for a total campaign against corruption. The task force that I had formed — they are all lawyers, engineers, doctors — this time, we will look into every department. But upon my request, behest, to focus on corruption in the DPWH,” pahayag ni Pangulong Duterte.
“Let me state here and now: I have nothing against Secretary Villar. He’s one of the hardworking and has many accomplishments. But accomplishments alone, to me, should not suffice, but not for Secretary Villar, because it’s not his job to be running after crooks,” paglilinaw ni PRRD.
“Apart from my usual responsibilities as SOJ, this new assignment is the toughest I have ever received from the President. I will need all the support and cooperation of the entire government machinery to achieve this singular objective of substantially reducing corruption in government. But as I have said, the first order of the day is to organize the main task force and determine the overall strategy,” pahayag ni Sec. Guevarra.
“And as the same, I will order your suspension. I need not go to court. As I said, in this presidency, I am not inutile because if I am inutile. I would leave my post and give it to others. So, in the coming days expect suspension. If I suspend you, I have doubts. I would not suspend anyone who has not made a mistake,” babala ni Pangulong Duterte.
