Libo-libong dolyares na inipit sa magazine, nasabat sa NAIA

Nasabat ng Bureau of Customs-Port of NAIA sa isang FedEx warehouse ang tatlong paketeng naglalaman ng pinuslit na USD currency bills na may halagang $38,700 nakaipit sa magazines.

Idineklara umanong mga dokumento ang mga naturang pakete na dumating noong Nobyembre 2 mula sa isang “Jacqualine Paas” ng USA papunta sa ilang mga indibidwal sa Poblacion, Muntinlupa.

Noong nakaraang linggo lamang ay naharang din ng BOC-NAIA ang undeclared na USD 13,500 foreign currencies. Ngayong 2020 ay nakapag-isyu na ng warrants of seizure and detention ang Port sa PhP29,875,000 halaga ng iba’t ibang currency.

Ang pagtatago ng cash sa cargo at mail ay money laundering ayon sa 2015 Financial Action Task Force on Money Laundering through the Physical Transportation of Cash report.

Kailangan lamang ideklara ng foreign currency importer ang halaga ng perang papasok gamit ang Foreign Currency Declaration Form alinsunod sa BSP Manual of Foreign Exchange Transaction.

Sasailalim sa seizure at forfeiture proceedings dahil sa paglabag sa Sec. 1400 at 1113 ng CMTA at New Central Bank Act at BSP Foreign Exchange Transaction Manual ang mga nasibat na foreign currencies.
