Sa ilalim ng GCQ ay patuloy pa ring makikinabang ang mga pasahero sa libreng sakay na ibinibigay ng Department of Transportation (DOTr) at Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) ayon kay DOTr Secretary Arthur Tugade ngayong araw, Mayo 14.

“Magpapatuloy ang pagbibigay ng DOTr at LTFRB ng libreng sakay sa ating mga healthcare workers, medical frontliners, essential workers at authorized persons outside of residence,” saad ni Tugade sa isang Facebook post.

Ayon sa kanya, ang service contracting program ng LTFRB ay patuloy na makatutulong sa publiko sa kasagsagan ng pandemya. 

“Nais nating makabawas kahit paano sa bigat na inyong pasan. Ang pamasaheng matitipid ninyo mula sa programang ito ay maaari ninyong magamit pambili ng pagkain at iba pang importanteng pangangailangan ng inyong pamilya at mahal sa buhay,” dagdag niya. 

Iniulat din ni Tugade na ang per kilometer incentive na natatanggap ng mga driver ng PUV sa ilalim ng programa ay nadagdagan din. 

Sa ilalim ng regular service contracting, ang mga jeepney driver ay nakatatanggap na ngayon ng Php27 kada kilometro mula sa dating Php11 habang ang mga bus driver naman ay nakatatanggap ng Php45.50 kada kilometro mula sa dating Php23.10.

Ang mga jeepney driver naman na kasama sa free ride program ay nakatatanggap na ng Php52.50 kada kilometro mula Php46.80 habang ang mga bus driver ay nakatatanggap ng Php82.50 mula sa dating Php46.80. 

“Nagdagdag din ang DOTr at LTFRB ng weekly incentive. Maaaring makatanggap ng dagdag na P7,000 ang mga PUV driver na kasali sa Service Contracting Program kung sila ay maglolog-in sa Systems App nang 5 beses (5 araw) sa loob ng isang linggo,” saad ng Kalihim.
