Ilang lokal na pamahalaan sa Metro Manila ang nangakong magtatabi ng kanilang pondo upang mailaan sa pagbili ng COVID-19 vaccines para sa kanilang nasasakupan.

Nakahandang magtabi ng P250 milyon ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Maynila sa panahong bigyan sila ng green light ng gobyerno.

“I would rather go, and invest again more with the safety of everyone here in Manila. ‘Yon man lamang ay makadagdag kami sa solusyon na gustong ma-achieve ng national government,” pahayag ni Manila City Mayor Francisco ‘Isko Moreno’ Domagoso.

Samantala, maglalaan naman ang lokal na pamahalaan ng Quezon City ng P1 bilyon mula sa 2021 budget nito para sa pagbili ng mga bakuna.

“‘Yong pondong inilaan po namin is just to reassure po ang people ng Quezon City kung sakaling hindi sapat ang ibibigay ng national government, mayroon pa rin po tayong pansalo para po sa kanila,” ani Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte.

Dagdag pa niya, “This is not just for the vaccine, marami kasing support, services, and equipment that need to be procured as well in relation to the vaccine like storage facilities, syringes, gloves, etc.” 

Mayroon namang P50 milyon ang lokal na pamahalaan ng San Juan na idadagdag umano sa pondo ng gobyerno para sa bakuna.

“Kung sakali man na medyo kapusin ang pondo ng pamahalaang nasyunal, mabuting mayroon tayong standby fund,” pahayag ni San Juan City Mayor Francis Zamora.

Naglaan din ang mga lokal na pamahalaan ng Muntinlupa ng P100 milyon at Parañaque ng halagang P250 milyon para sa COVID-19 vaccines.
