Tutol umano ang karamihan sa mga alkalde sa Metro Manila na luwagan ang quarantine age restriction na naglalayong magbigay permiso sa mga may edad 10 hanggang 65 taong gulang na makalabas sa gitna ng pandemya. 

“Do’n po sa amin pong consensus sa isang meeting po namin, halos lahat po kami ay hindi po sumasang-ayon yung relaxing this age bracket,” pahayag ni Parañaque City Mayor Edwin Olivarez.

Kamakailan, inaprubahan ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF) ang pagluwag sa mobility restrictions ng mga may edad 10-65 taong gulang para sa mga lugar na nasa ilalim ng Modified General Community Quarantine (GCQ) simula ngayong Pebrero 1.

Nakipag-ugnayan din umano sila sa pediatricians patungkol sa pagluwag ng age restrictions sa GCQ areas.

“Do’n po sa kanilang ibinigay, talaga pong hindi po advisable na ibaba po yung ating age bracket,” pahayag ni Mayor Olivarez.

Subalit siniguro naman ng MMC na magpupulong pa rin umano sila upang pag-usapan ang naging rekomendasyon ng IATF. 

Ayon kay Olivarez, “Magkakaroon po ng meeting ang Metro Manila Council tomorrow night…we will decide on our recommendation to IATF.”

Kasalukuyang nasa ilalim ng GCQ ang mga siyudad sa Metro Manila at hindi pinapayagang makalabas ang mga 18 taong gulang pababa.
