Mga foreigner na may visa, maaari nang bumisita sa bansa

Sa kabila ng travel restrictions na dulot ng COVID-19, inanunsyo ng Malacañang kanina na maaari nang makapasok sa bansa ang mga foreigner na may valid visa ngunit kailangan pa ring sumailalim sa istriktong health at quarantine protocols. 

Ito ay matapos amyendahan ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases (IATF-EID) ang naunang resolusyon nito para sa mga foreigner na sakop ng travel restrictions na ipinatupad dahil sa bagong COVID-19 variant. 

Sa Resolution 95 ng task force, pinapayagan na ang mga foreigner na may valid visa na bisitahin ang bansa ayon kay Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque sa isang press briefing. 

“Those who arrive for medical and emergency cases, including their medical escorts, if any, are now subject to applicable testing and quarantine protocols as prescribed by the Department of Health (DOH),” paliwanag ni Roque. 

Matatandaang noong Enero 15 ay in-extend ng Pilipinas ang travel ban hanggang sa katapusan ng Enero sa 30 bansang may mga kumpirmadong kaso ng bagong strain na kilala bilang B. 1.1.7 SARS-CoV-2 variant. 

Ipinatupad ang travel ban matapos maitala ang unang kaso ng bagong variant sa bansa. 

Dagdag pa ni Roque, inamyendahan din ng task force ang testing at quarantine protocols para sa mga Pilipinong magmumula sa mga bansang kasama sa listahan ng travel ban. 

“From the strict observation of an absolute 14-day facility-based quarantine period for Filipino citizens coming from areas where travel restrictions are in place, the IATF amended this to prescribed testing and quarantine protocols,” saad ni Roque. 

Ayon sa kaniya, ang mga padating na pasahero na manggagaling o magtratransit sa mga bansang kasama sa travel ban ay kailangang dumaan agad sa testing pagdating sa bansa at sumailalim sa quarantine hanggang lumabas ang resulta ng kasunod na test na isasagawa sa pang-limang araw.
