Nagbabala si Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez Jr., na hindi umano maaabutan ng bakuna ang mga lokal na pamahalaang hindi handa sa nalalapit na COVID-19 vaccine rollout ng bansa upang masigurong walang masasayang sa bakunang bibilhin.

Ayon kay Sec. Galvez, magsasagawa ng inspeksyon ang National Task Force against COVID-19 sa mga lokal na pamahalaan dalawang linggo bago ang distribusyon ng bakuna upang masigurong handa ang mga ito sa mangyayari.

“Titignan namin ‘yung mga preparation kasi hindi namin sila bibigyan ng bakuna hanggang hindi pa sila ready. Kasi ayaw po namin na may masayang na bakuna,” pahayag ni Sec. Galvez.

Dagdag pa niya, “So kailangan, ang importante, when we inspect, tinitignan po namin ang readiness nila, ‘yung capacity nila at ‘yung kapabilidad ng leadership nila na makuha ‘yung herd immunity as soon as possible,”

Sa kasalukuyan, aprubado na ng gobyerno ang plano para sa mass immunization ng bansa para sa  COVID-19. Nakapaloob sa planong ito ang mga panuntunang kailangang sundin ng mga lokal na pamahalaan tulad ng pagtatayo ng vaccination operations centers, pagkakaroon ng maayos na vaccine storage, gayundin ang masterlist ng mga makakatanggap ng bakuna sa lugar.
