Sinabi ni MMDA Chairman Benjamin “Benhur” Abalos, Jr. kagabi, Abril 28, sa “Talk to the People” ni Pangulong Rodrigo Roa Duterte na handa ang mga alkalde sa NCR na tumulong sa pribadong sektor sa vaccination rollout. 

Nakipag-usap na umano sa representatives ng ilang malalaking kumpanya sa bansa ang mga alkalde bilang paghahanda sa pagdating ng mga bakuna.

“McDonald’s, Jollibee, Ayala Land, lahat ng malalaking korporasyon—tutulong po sila para po paghandaan po natin ‘yong pagdating ng bakuna,” saad ni Abalos. 

Ayon sa kaniya, inaasahang makakatanggap ang bansa ng 10 hanggang 15 milyong doses ng bakuna para sa COVID-19 buwan-buwan mula Hunyo hanggang Agosto. 

“Itong Abril is about 100,000150,000, tapos comparing it to 10 million. So, iba ho talaga ang kailangang paghandaan,” paliwanag ni Abalos. 

Dagdag pa ni Abalos, bumaba ang kaso ng mga positibo sa virus at inaasahang mananatili sa ganitong sitwasyon dahil ang implementasyon ng minimum health protocols sa NCR plus ay mananatiling istrikto.

“So, sa Kalakhang Maynila more or less maganda po ang takbo. Ang mga alkalde po ay iisa lamang ang boses, ke maliit na lugar kamukha ng Pateros, San Juan o Mandaluyong; o malaking lugar, Maynila o Quezon City, basta magbotohan po, iisa lang po ang galaw po rito,” saad ni Abalos.
