Kasama umano ang mga kongresista at mga senador sa gagawing imbestigasyon ng Department of Justice (DOJ) laban sa korapsyon base sa utos ni Pangulong Rodrigo Duterte.

Sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque, mandato ng DOJ na imbestigahan ang lahat kahit ang mga nasa lehislatura lalo pa’t hindi kasama sa kanilang tinatamasang immunity and anti-graft laws.

“Alam niyo po ang mandato po ng DOJ, sang-ayon sa batas na nabuo ng National Prosecutors Office is to investigate everyone. Pero meron din po tayong mga immunities na ine-enjoy ang ating mga elected members of Congress and the Senate pero it is not for violating anti-graft laws,” sabi ni Roque.

Giit pa ni Sec. Roque na kahit na magkahiwalay na sangay ang lehislatura at ehekutibo, wala namang hiwalay na ahensya ng gobyerno ang nagsasagawa ng imbestigasyon kaugnay sa korapsyon.

“So, kasama po ang lahat ng mga public officers despite the separation of powers dahil wala naman pong separate na ahensya na nag-iinvestigate ng korapsyon sa Kongreso mismo. ‘Yan po ay kapangyarihan mismo ng ehekutibo, to implement all laws kahit sino pa man sila,” dagdag ni Sec. Roque.
