Handa na ang Simbahang Katolika sa bansa na salubungin ang mga dadalo sa nalalapit na Simbang Gabi na nakatakdang magsimula ngayong Disyembre 16.

Sa kabila nito, iginiit ni Fr. Jerome Secillano, Executive Secretary ng Catholic Bishops‘ Conference of the Philippines (CBCP) Committee on Public Affairs na kailangan pa ring masunod ang itinakdang health protocols sa lahat ng simbahan.

Ayon sa CBCP, handa umano silang sumunod sa “new normal” guidelines at nanawagan sa mga Katoliko na sundin ang physical distancing, magsuot ng face mask at face shield, at tumalima sa itinakdang curfew hours.

Nagbigay na umano sila ng atas sa mga obispo at pari na sundin ang dami ng bilang ng tao na papapasukin sa loob ng simbahan alinsunod na rin sa community quarantine level ng nasabing lugar.

Kamakailan, ibinahagi ni Fr. Secillano na mas pinaikli na ang sermon at limitado na rin ang church hymns sapagkat ayon sa mga pag-aaral, mataas ang posibilidad ng pagkalat ng virus sa pagkanta.

Nakipag-ugnayan na rin ang CBCP sa mga simbahan na iayon ang oras ng misa ng Simbang Gabi sa curfew hours na ipatutupad sa bawat lugar.

“The bishop of the place, in consultation with the pastors of the parishes and in coordination with the LGU, could schedule more Simbang Gabi masses in different venues, which can be large enough to accommodate more people and still observe social distancing,” pahayag ng CBCP.

Irerespeto rin umano ng Simbahan ang desisyon ng ilan na mas pipiliing sa online na lamang dumalo ng misa bunsod na rin ng banta ng pandemya sa bansa.
