Naalarma si Treatment Czar Health Undersecretary Leopoldo Vega sa naitalang mahigit tatlong libong positibong kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa kamakailan.
Ayon kay Usec. Vega, “We’re taking necessary precautionary measures lalo na sa hospitals. Ngayong week na ‘to, nakikita niyo nag-i-increase ng trend, nag-a-uptick. There is an increase in the number of active cases.”
Dagdag din niya, ang kasalukuyang bilang ng mga nagpopositibo sa virus ay kalahati na umano ng naitalang limang libong kaso noong nakaraang Agosto na siyang naitalang may pinakamataas na bilang ng kaso ng nagpositibo sa virus sa bansa.
Dahil dito, hinimok ni Usec. Vega na paigtingin ang implementasyon ng minimum health protocols upang makontrol ang pagkalat ng virus lalo pa’t mas marami na umanong mga establisyimento ang pinapayagang magbukas ngayon.
“Kailangan nating tawagin na lang, nire-recommend nga nila to change it to enhanced public health standards,” paalala ni Usec. Vega.
“Kailangan i-enhance natin kasi kung magbukas ulit ng economy, itong ‘enhanced,’ ‘yung ating face mask, social distancing, ito ‘yung pinaka-vaccine talaga — preventive way in transmitting the virus,” dagdag pa ni Vega.
Nilinaw din ni Usec. Vega na hindi second wave ng COVID-19 ang nararanasan ng bansa ngayon.
“We cannot say right now. We can see an uptick in cases. Once we see that it is already progressive, consistent, and is nearing the 2020 peak, then we can say it is possibly the second wave. But at this time, we don’t. It is still difficult to say it is already the second wave,” pahayag ni Usec. Vega.
