PAGBABAKUNA SA A4 GROUP, MAAARING UMABOT HANGGANG NOBYEMBRE

Maaari umanong umabot hanggang Nobyembre ang pagbabakuna sa 28 milyong Pilipino na kabilang sa A4 category,  ayon kay Dr.Teodoro Herbosa, special adviser ng National Task Force Against COVID-19.

Ayon kay Dr. Herbosa, kinailangang dagdagan ang timeline sa pagbabakuna dahil sa mga idinagdag na sektor sa A4 category sa kabila ng kakulangan ng suplay ng bakuna.

Matatandaang noong nakaraang linggo, dinagdag sa listahan ng A4 category ang lahat ng manggagawang pumapasok sa trabaho sa kabila ng implementasyon ng enhanced community quarantine.

“A4 is a lot of people. It is almost 28 million, and we cannot finish vaccinating them within June. That will probably go on until November,” pahayag ni Dr.Herbosa.

Dahil din umano sa expanded A4 category kung bakit nagpasya ang pamahalaan na unahin ang pagbabakuna ng mga may  edad 40 hanggang 59 taong gulang.

“There is prioritization para walang gulo, walang nag-uunahan. And those aged 40 to 59 are more likely to have comorbidities or be seriously ill when infected with COVID-19,” paliwanag ni Dr. Herbosa.

Subalit nilinaw naman ni Dr. Herbosa na maaaring magbago ang vaccination prioritization anumang oras na magkaroon ng sapat na suplay ng bakuna ang bansa.

Kamakailan, iniulat ni Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Jr. na may paparating na sampung milyong doses ng bakuna sa bansa ngayong buwan ng Hunyo.

Kabilang sa mga vaccine brand na ito ang Sinovac, Pfizer, AstraZeneca, Moderna, at Sputnik V.
