PAGBABAKUNA SA MEDICAL FRONTLINERS, HINDI AABUTIN NG ISANG BUWAN AYON SA PALASYO

Siniguro ng Palasyo na hindi aabutin ng isang buwan ang gagawing pagbabakuna sa medical frontliners sa nalalapit na pagsisimula ng vaccination program sa bansa ngayong Pebrero.

“Inaasahan natin sa buong linggo na ito, sa buong buwan na darating ay lahat ng medical frontliners at may immediate na priority ay at least nasimulan na. Pero, definitely hindi aabot ng isang buwan para matapos natin lahat ng medical frontliners,” ani Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque.

Ayon kay Sec. Roque, nakalaan ang 117,000 doses ng bakuna mula sa COVAX facility para sa medical frontliners na isa sa mga prayoridad ng gobyernong unang makatanggap ng bakuna.

Tinatayang aabot sa 50,000 medical frontliners ang kayang mabakunahan ng dalawang beses gamit ang 117,00 doses na ito.

Dagdag pa ni Sec. Roque, mayroon pang inaasahang limang milyong doses ng bakuna mula sa AstraZeneca para sa health workers.

“So, inaasahan natin na lahat nu’ng nasa paunang frontliners natin na mahigit-kumulang 1.4 million, lahat ‘yan ay mabibigyan dahil 5 milyon mahigit ‘’ung AstraZeneca na darating din also within the month,” pahayag ni Sec. Roque.

Kaugnay nito, iniulat ng Department of Health na maglalaan ang COVAX facility ng bakuna para sa 20 porsyento ng populasyon ng bansa subalit 15 porsyento lamang ang maibibigay nito nang libre.

Nilinaw naman ni Vaccine Czar Carlito Galvez, Jr. na hindi makaaapekto ang pagbawas ng alokasyon ng libreng bakuna sa bansa ng COVAX facility at aniya, may kakayanan pa rin umanong bumili ang gobyerno ng dagdag na doses.
