Sa media briefing na ginanap noong Martes, Disyembre 15, sinabi ni Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque na base sa napagkasunduan ng Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of Emerging Infectious Diseases, bukod sa pagsusuot ng face mask ay kinakailangan pa ring magsuot ng face shield ang publiko sa tuwing aalis ng bahay upang mas lalo pang mapababa ang kaso ng pagkahawa sa COVID-19.

Matatandaang dati ay kinakailangan lamang magsuot ng face shield kapag sasakay sa mga pampublikong transportasyon at kapag papasok sa mga mall.

Nilinaw din ng tagapagsalita ng Pangulo na nararapat na gumamit ng full face shields, o iyong matatakpan ang mukha mula noo hanggang baba. Ipinagbabawal ang alinmang face shield na mas maigsi sa nabanggit na sukat.

Nang tanungin naman tungkol sa presyo ng face shield, ani Roque, “It’s not an issue of cost anymore. I doubt meron pang taong walang face shield.” 

Aniya, maaari pa ngang mabili ang naturang plastic protective equipment sa halagang limang piso lamang.

Ang naturang hakbang ay ginawa bilang paghahanda sa posibleng pagtaas ng bilang ng kaso ng COVID-19 sa bansa sa gitna ng pagdiriwang ng Kapaskuhan, lalo pa’t marami nang mga tao ang lumalabas upang mamili at makipagkita sa mga kapamilya at kaibigan matapos ang ilang buwang paghihigpit sa quarantine rules.
